How to check the Basic Specifications & Configurations of your PC on Windows 10, 8.1 and 7

While using a Computer it becomes very necessary to know its specifications, By referring to the specifications,one can easily check their computer’s compatibility for programs,games, and also the specifications will let you easily determine if you need to upgrade your RAM or any other part on your PC,each PC as we know has a different set of configurations and specification,although you may be using your PC or a long time,but their may be some items on your PC that you might not be aware of,So lets have a look at the steps to determine the Specifications and configurations of your PC.

The configurations on your PC will let you know about the hardware devices installed on your PC,you can easily check the brand and some other basic information regarding the hardware devices installed on your PC,while the specifications will help you checking the amount of RAM,Processor,Windows version and some other general information regarding your PC.

1. Checking the Basic Configurations

A) Windows 10 and 8.1

  • In order to check the configurations ,you need to open the Device manager on your PC,
  • Right click to the Start button (At Left bottom) > Click Device manager,
  • Here you can expand each head and view the device installed for each of the listed item on your PC.

B) Windows 7

  • Press Windows key + R,
  • Type devmgmt.msc in the run box ,
  • Click enter to open the device manager box.

2. Checking the Basic Specifications

A) Windows 10

  • Type about in the search box on your taskbar, and then select About your PC.
  • Look under PC for Edition to find out which version and edition of Windows that your PC is running,
  • Look under PC for Version to find out which version of Windows 10 your PC is running,
  • Look under PC for System type to see if you’re running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows,
  • To find out which version of Windows your PC is running, press Windows logo key + R, type winver, then select OK.

B) Windows 8.1

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings,(If you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings),
  • Tap or click PC and devices, and then tap or click PC info,
  • Look under Windows for the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running,
  • Look under PC for System type to see if you’re running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows,
  • To find out which version of Windows your PC is running, press Windows logo key + R, type winver, then select OK.

C) Windows 7

  • Click on the Start button from the left bottom corner,
  • Input Computer in the search box, right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
  • Look under Windows edition for the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running.
  • To find out which version of Windows your PC is running, press Windows logo key + R, type winver, then select OK.
