Following the launch of the Android Oreo Go,for entry level smartphones as posted previously at verified tricks,Google is developing and introducing some light version apps out of its existing apps called the Go apps which offer almost the same utility of its parent app,but have low size and consume less memory,Google has introduced a new app yesterday ‘Google Maps GO’ although this app is listed at the playstore ,but it is non downloadable for the phones running normal android version,and not the ‘Android Oreo GO’ OS.
You can check out the Google Maps Go app at the Playstore ,it shows your device is not compatible with the app,for the non android Oreo Go Users,But we can still try out the Maps Go app on our android smartphones with the PWA interface (Progressive web app),Follow the steps below ,to set up Google maps go on your android device.
Steps to use Maps Go (Progressive web app)–
- In order to begin ,initially head to the Google Chrome browser on your mobile,and copy paste the link below ,into the address box,
- Once pasted click enter, and let the website load,
- Once the site loads ,click on the three dots from top right corner ,besides the address bar and select the ‘Add to home screen’ option
- Add it to your phone and you will have the Maps Go app on your phone,click on it any time to access the light weight Maps Go app.
Once the shortcut gets added to your phone,you can click on it any time to access Google Maps GO,this version of Google maps offer a fast and easy interface,with low size and less data consumption ,As for the official version of Google maps Go app,It may be kept limited for the Android Oreo Go OS.
